You will be greeted by our team at Pisa International Airport and transported to your Lucca accommodation. After a noroushing lunch we’ll prepare our bikes for an opening bike trip or “sgambatella” – an Italian colloquialism – to ready our legs for the days ahead.

Lucca’s scenic hills, surrounded by old olive groves and wine acreages, are a short ride from the centre. We will salute the spectacular week to come with an aperitivo at one of the many excellent enotecas.

On return to the hotel, it will be time to prepare for dining at a first-class restaurant in the historical centre.

We’ll begin our exciting experience! The initial ride will take us along flat tranquil roads via olive trees and wine areas. 30 km beyond we’ll arrive at Cecina and will see its famous cypress avenue.

Then some escalations and descents which become more testing as we reach Monte Scudaio. Post the enlivening descent, we’ll reach Montecatini Val di Cecina where we’ll view the unusual ancient Belforti Tower perched on a green Tuscan hill.

Then it’s lunch! We’ll carry on through pastures green and amazing farmlands to Volterra, an enchanting town surrounded by walls on a hilltop, famous for its unique Etruscan layout. At our hotel we’ll enjoy a post-cycling massage by one of our professional therapists before a memorable dining experience.

Today’s cycling tour will begin by pedalling an unforgettable route comprising a series of challenging escalations and descents via the renowned Chianti region, famous for its incredible wines and equally amazing landscape. We’ll journey on breathtaking paths to the well-known villages of Castel S. Giminiano, Colle Val d’Elsa and Radda in Chianti where we’ll pause to visit a lovely winery sampling its produce.

Returning to our bikes we’ll ride along country roads dotted with neverending vineyards and olive trees and rolling hills leading us to Siena, where a first-class dining experience awaits us after a rejuventing post-cycle massage.

After an delicious breakfast, we’ll prepare to enjoy yet another invigorating bike trip of unforgettable scenery and the medieval villages of Roccastrada and Civitella Paganico. From here the landscape blends into the Ombrone Valley.

In the region of Civitella Paganico, the renowned Petriolo Hot Springs will be revealed to us, along with its thermal baths that seem to have been in existence forever. Along the route, we’ll break for a traditional Italian lunch in a much favoured local trattoria. We’ll ride on via the Basso Merse Natural Reserve, before reaching today’s ultimate destination, Montalcino.

A relaxing post-cycle massage will be in order at our hotel before a well-deserved 5 start dinner.

At the day’s start we’ll cycle through the picturesque ancient villages dotted around the hills. We’ll ride on through more hills that roll, via even more tiny hamlets in the stunning Val D’Orcia, one being Radicofani.

For those who love nature, the Fosso Bianco is essential to see. The woodland stream meets at the junction of hot springs, and swimming is done here all year long. In the midst of Val D’Orcia many wonderful trattorias await us and we will stop at one for a cyclist’s lunch.

On our bikes once more, we’ll ride to Cortona, a typical and beautiful Tuscan town where we’ll relax and enjoy another envigorating massage. Post aperitivo we’ll head for a delightful dinner.

Today we will cycle on magical roads via lush countryside dotted with Etruscan villages, travelling through Orvieto, one of central Italy’s most unforgettable hilltop towns, famous for its incredible cathedral and the Etruscan Temple of Belvedere.

Again on our bikes along roads ridden by Gino Bartali to Assisi. There will be 3 progressive climbs and then flatland, crossing landscape untouched in the middle of Umbria. Here we will sample wine and delicacies at another favourite eatery. Contining along a smooth ride we’ll cross stunning country to Assisi, one of Italy’s most beautiful towns, renowned for its Basilica of San Francesco.

The afternoon will be for sightseeing in town, then a post-cycle professional massage and a delicious first-class dinner.

After another excellent breakfast, an invigorating morning cycle will take us to some of Italy’s most beautiful regions, through the Umbria/Marche border. This wonderful area is famous for its stunning landscape, resembling a colourful painting.

We’ll journey via many enchanting medieval hamlets like Gualdo Tadino, steeped in history and art. Here we’ll pause for wine sampling, seizing the moment to taste local treats like Ascolana olives and incredible white truffles. We conclude riding via spectacular coastal scenery before arriving at the gorgeous town of Ancona, where we’ll discover the magnificent mix of modern historical architecture.
